MEET THE TEAM

I owe so much to all of these wonderful people that help keep the show on the road, and care for my special horses. Through a number of issues, they have worked together for the maximum benefit for each horse, and I feel privileged to be able to call on and learn from their experience.

DR JENNIFER HOLMAN

MUM

Mum comes with me to all outings, as driver and camera-woman – a vital role as I am keen to self-evaluate the horses’ and my own performance at each event. As a non-horsey parent, she is lucky that she never suffers from nerves when watching me compete, so she is also handy to have around to comfort owners who get a bit jittery watching their horses! She is incredibly supportive of me and my career, especially as it takes up most of her days off from her own stressful job as a Paediatric Consultant at Gloucester Royal Hospital.

DANNII WILKES

GROOM

Dannii, 20, joined my team towards the end of 2019 and has played a key role in my successes since then. She is highly organised and takes a great pride in everything she does, and most importantly loves and cares for every horse as if it was her own (who is also stabled at the yard). The yard and tack room are always clean and tidy, and the horses are always happy when she’s around! I am very grateful to have Dannii onboard at AH Eventing.

JANE BAILEY, BECKY DIAMOND & JANET COE

OWNERS

In 2018, I gained the rides on Rock Solid (Jane Bailey), and Hocus Pocus (Becky Diamond). Both horses are currently based with their owners, but we have managed to work together and compete both horses successfully up to 2* level during 2019, with Hocus Pocus successfully stepping up to Intermediate in 2020. In March 2020 I took on the ride on another of Jane's horses, Pink Diamond, with the aim of stepping up to Advanced/4* level in 2021. In 2019 I joined forces with dedicated fence judge Janet Coe, to secure the ride on Carrick Diamond Bard, who has also been incredibly successful with me. It is a pleasure to work with all 3 owners, and I am very grateful for their support, and for trusting me to ride their horses.

KATIE WILLIAMS & LAURA WOLLEN

TRAINERS

With the exception of my time based with other riders, I have been mainly self-taught during my riding career, but recently I have sought help from Katie Williams for the jumping, and Laura Wollen for the dressage. In just a short space of time towards the end of 2019, both have been invaluable in the horses’ progress, and I am so excited to have them as part of my team to help me move up the levels.

G&T SADDLES

SADDLERS

I am very fortunate to be sponsored by local saddlers G&T Saddles – the mother/daughter combination of Georgie & Terri Webb. Both ride, compete, and keep horses themselves, as well as being excellent saddle fitters, so they are the perfect pair to advise on the fitting and adjustment of my saddles and other tack, as well as carrying out any repairs that are needed and providing all other help that I could want! They are my longest standing supporters, through all the best and the worst times, and I wouldn’t be able to keep going without all that they do.

BEN COLES- BOURTON VALE VETS

VET

Based at Bourton Vale Equine Vets, Ben is a very experienced vet, and has seen my top horse Alfie through his tendon injuries and rehabilitation, as well as dealing with other more minor issues. He is always at the end of the phone if I ever have any concerns, and as his recent involvement with the British riders at the Tokyo test event and Pau CCI5* shows, I know my horses will be in the most capable hands.

HARRY MEEK

FARRIER

Harry is obviously a vital part of the team. He is very reliable, and even tidies up after himself – brilliant for my OCD around the yard! He has been regularly shoeing the horses all season, and is doing a great job of keeping their feet in top condition. Even in the muddiest of ground conditions, all of his shoes have stayed on the horses’ feet this year! He also supplies us with Kevin Bacon for their daily care.

HOLLY KERR

EQUINE PHYSIO

Holly has been the physio to my horses since 2016, and more recently to me as I’ve experienced a few more aches and pains! She is very experienced, and her treatment and/or advice always brings benefits to the horses’ work. During 2017 she helped me with the successful rehabilitation of a horse that had undergone Kissing Spines surgery, and the knowledge I gained from her during this time now plays a huge part in a lot of my work with the horses.
